Dwayne Johnson is a multi-player when it comes to career. Besides being a marquee WWE champion, the Great One paved his path through wrestling and a handful of business projects as well. That said, being a footballer remains one of his unfulfilled calls. However, at an amateur level, Johnson played for the Miami Hurricanes in 1991 and 1994 and was a member of the 1991 national championship squad.

Now, given the former coach of the Miami Hurricanes, legendary NFL entity, Jimny Johnson commemorated a special day in his career, The Rock made a gratifying tribute.

Despite working for the same football team, the timeline of Dwayne Johnson and Jimmy Johnson was different. Shortly after the veteran coach left the U for America’s team, DJ came up to play for the Canes. So, pretty unfortunately, they didn’t have any professional interaction.

To wipe out the regret, Johnson finally took his chance to convey what it meant to him to play for Miami. He also personally handed the legend that ‘letter of intent’ that he had to give to the replaced Miami coach in the 90s.

However, Johnson recently took a landmark step toward the growth of his co-owned XFL.

The Rock made a stellar announcement on Sunday that XFL and USFL will be merged and renamed as the United Football League. Two words “Xtreme” and “States” from each of their names will be omitted, respectively. The first game of the merger league will commence on March 30.

Johnson had his fellow league co-owner and longtime film producing partner, ex-wife Dany Garcia by her side while talking on this remarkable upgradation on Fox’s NFL pregame show.
