Becky Lynch is one of WWE’s Women’s Triple Crown Champions. She has always enjoyed a healthy fanfare. That Lynch has delivered good matches consistently has helped her cause immensely. Unfortunately, fans are now growing tired of her, especially because of a storyline she has been involved in within the last few months.

Lynch cut a promo on the August 7 episode of RAW, promoting her match with Trish Stratus. But fans were not happy. They slammed both the rivalry and The Man. But why did fans throw shade at the former Women’s Tag Team Champion?

What did Becky Lynch say during her promo?

Since April, Lynch has been involved in a feud with seven-time women’s champion Trish Stratus. This led to the two locking horns at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia in May. Stratus won the bout after an unexpected interference from Zoey Stark. Lynch is yet to have her rematch.

During her promo on the said episode of the red brand, Lynch addressed the issue. “I’m tired and I’m becoming weary and hopeful. And I’m ready to put an end to this saga, this charade when I finally get my rematch next week one-on-one with Trish Stratus.”

The 36-year-old acknowledged Stratus as the best of the bygone era, while she deemed herself the best of the current generation and the ones to follow. “…until infinity,” Becky Lynch added.

Fans slammed her promo online after the video surfaced on Instagram.

Fans want WWE to move on from the Lynch-Stratus feud

Becky Lynch was forced to start a feud with Stratus after the latter turned heel and betrayed the former SmackDown Women’s Champion in April. Stratus’ action led to Lynch losing her WWE Women’s Tag Team belt. Soon, it turned ugly and personal as the Canadian pro wrestler took shots at not only Lynch but her toddler daughter.

While the feud kept fans engaged, they seem to have lost interest currently. “She says she’s tired of this feud I think we’re all tired of this feud already,” said one user.

Matching the sentiment, a second comment read: “Is anyone else completely over this whole thing with her and Trish or is it just me???”

WWE too has looked away from the feud, as it didn’t get a match at the recently concluded SummerSlam in Detroit. “This story wasn’t on summerslam for a reason it’s run it’s course now it’s just time to move on and put them in a tag title feud or something else,” wrote another fan.

Many also took offense at Lynch crediting herself as the greatest of this generation. “Wait I thought the greatest of that generation (Trish) fought the greatest of this generation at summer slam (charlotte) already. Maybe that’s why they didn’t have a match because we have already seen it,” a comment read.

This user said, “Trish should retire becky… She should teach who the greatest of all time… I m sick and tired of her screaming and failing.”

Maybe the match next week, if it happens, will change the fans’ perception. Till then, the WWE has a lot to think about the Becky Lynch-Trish Stratus storyline.
