

Hulk Hogan was one of pro wrestling’s first, larger-than-life superstars. His charisma was unmatched, and he was a massive draw. It can be argued that one more wrestler rivaled Hogan in his popularity and that was Jim Hellwig, aka The Ultimate Warrior.

The two met in one of the most hyped main events in WWE at WrestleMania VI for the WWE Championship. The result saw the Warrior going over Hogan clean to become the WWE champion. Hogan was even gracious in defeat handing the title to him after the match. It was a symbolic passing of the torch moment.
But over the years their relationship deteriorated with a lot of bad blood between the two. Over the years Warrior and Hogan didn’t see eye to eye at all.
Hulk Hogan recalls meeting The Warrior at WrestleMania 30
Hulk Hogan spoke about his reunion with the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 30 weekend when Hellwig was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hogan was talking to The Mirror in the UK while on a tour with WWE in 2014. He revealed the details of what went down when he met his old in-ring foe.
The Hulkster explained, “I had a chance to go up to him and just basically tell him hey brother I love you. And whatever I did to put gas on the fire or whatever participation I had in this craziness between us I wanna apologize. I just want to let you know that if we can be friends great and if we do business great. But just want to let you know that I love you. Please forgive me for whatever part I had in this craziness. It was that quick for a moment.”

Hogan also stated that he met Hellwig on the RAW after WrestleMania, before he delivered his speech that night. He said The Warrior was kind to him in return.

The Immortal One said, “I was specifically trying not to run into him because I didn’t want to mess things up for him. He was in such a great place. but I’m glad it worked out that way. He was very receptive very kind and gracious, he was the old Jim that I knew before it was really cool.”
Unfortunately, a day after his appearance on RAW, Ultimate Warrior passed away at the age of 54.

He will always be remembered as one of a kind character in WWE. Warrior will go down in wrestling folklore for his iconic WrestleMania match against Hogan that defined a generation.
