Stone Cold Steve Austin returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 after 19 years of absence. Where he fought against Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. Austin, 57, became the oldest wrestler to compete in the main event of WrestleMania.
However, in a recent episode of the Hall Of Fame podcast, Brad Gilmore asked Booker T, who he would pick as Austin’s opponent if Austin would return for another battle. Booker T reckoned Sami Zayn could be the ideal opponent for Austin’s comeback.

Booker T stated, “You know, I don’t think his style (Stone Cold Steve Austin) matches up with AJ Styles. Sami Zayn would definitely be a guy that if I had to pick Sami Zayn would be a guy. I know that I can put in that position and get exactly what I need out of him.” [20:08 to 20:26]
However, Booker T also mentions that the fight with Kevin Owens relieved a lot of pressure from Austin. Since he was returning after 19 years, and a fight with a veteran takes a lot of practice and training.
However, things were different with Owens because he had to turn a conversation into a fight, which is easier than a build-up veteran fight.
Stone Cold Steve Austin became the oldest to compete at WrestleMania
It was Austin’s first match after he left WWE in 2003, because of his neck injury. However, WrestleMania 38 made history as Austin became the oldest wrestler ever to compete in the main event. The Undertaker previously held the record for the oldest wrestler to compete at WrestleMania.

However, on Brewbound Podcast, Austin was asked about whether he will ever return to WWE again, or if this was his last match. To Which Austin replied, “Well, for me to participate in WrestleMania 38, if you would’ve told me, ‘Hey man, you’re gonna be a part of WrestleMania 38. Not only that, you’re gonna main event night one. I would’ve said you’re full of sh*t and you’re crazy and there I was in Dallas, Texas, headlining main event on day one so, never say ‘never’.”
