WWE Makes Massive Announcement For This Week’s NXT

After the exciting matches of WWE NXT: TakeOver XXX on August 22, WWE has announced new matches for Wednesday’s NXT. This lineup also includes a massive title match!

WWE NXT match card revealed

This Wednesday, all eyes are going to be on the title match. WWE announced on Twitter that Team Breezango will challenge Imperium for the WWE NXT Tag Team titles.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango became the No.1 contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships on the NXT Takeover: XXX Pre-Show after defeating Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch and Legado del Fantasma in a triple threat match.

Imperium’s Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner won the titles on the May 13 edition of NXT this year.

The show will kick off with the new NXT Champion Karrion Cross and his manager Scarlett Bordeaux. It will be Kross’ first appearance after winning the title at TakeOver. He defeated Keith Lee and suffered from a separated shoulder during the match.

Santos Escober will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against longtime rival Isaiah “Swerve” Scott.

NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai & Rhea Ripley will square off against Dakota Kai & Raquel González . After retaining her title against Kai, Raquel González attacked the champion while Rhea Ripley came down to make the save. That’s what laid the context for this week’s match-up.

The North American Champion Damien Priest will also make an appearance on the show.

As announced earlier, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett) will join tomorrow’s NXT  commentary team. As of now, the NXT commentary gig is just a one-time deal.

Unlike RAW and SmackDown, WWE is filming NXT from the Full Sail campus. The event will stream live on the WWE Network.
