After nine pay-per-views this year, WWE is ready to host “Clash Of Champions” on September 27, 2020. Unlike WWE Payback, the company has almost a month to build upon storylines and rivalries to make things interesting.

After this week’s Monday Night Raw, we have one confirmed match for the PPV. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will defend his title against “the legend killer” Randy Orton at the Clash of Champions. On Raw, Randy Orton earned his spot as he defeated Seth Rollins and Keith Lee.

Apart from the alleged “main event,” nothing is confirmed. However, here are some matches that could take place at the upcoming PPV.

WWE Women’s’ Tag Team Championship – Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax (C) vs. Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott)

Nia Jax and Shaya Baszler may not be the ideal tag team partners. Despite their past bad blood, the duo won the tag team titles in a shocking match finish.

Now, Clash of Champions will likely be their first title defense. Bayley and Sasha Banks may seem like good opponents, but they are not likely to seek a rematch for their titles.

However, the recently reunited Riott Squad of Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan earned a title shot on Raw last week. They defeated and broke up the IIconics.

We have to wait and see if the title match will become a triple threat match with the Golden Role Models.

Intercontinental Championship Match – Jeff Hardy (C) vs. Sami Zayn vs. AJ Styles

Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Hardy won his 5th Intercontinental Championship. However, last week before Payback, Sami Zayn made a surprise return to WWE with an old Intercontinental Championship. Zayn claimed he never lost the title.

Intercontinental Champion Zayn did not appear on WWE programming due to the coronavirus pandemic. The title was relinquished. Subsequently, AJ Styles won a tournament to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

But according to Zayn, he’s absence does not matter, and he’s the “real champion.” Both Hardy and Styles are “frauds.”

WWE will capitalize on this situation and make the Intercontinental title match at Clash of Champions a “triple threat match” to determine an undisputed Champion.

WWE Smackdown Women’s’ Championship – Bayley (C) vs. Sasha Banks

This match has been years in the making. The best friends were bound to split apart. At Payback, The Golden Role Models lost their tag team titles to Baszler and Jax.

As we reported earlier, Banks taunted Bayley on social media after the match.

Bayley is yet to reply to Banks. But their match at Clash of Champions is only awaiting WWE’s announcement.

WWE Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (C) vs. Bray Wyatt

We reported earlier that Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt will now be the top heel and face of SmackDown. Considering that Reigns delivered a low blow to “The Fiend” and pinned Strowman to pick up the victory, a title rematch is ready to take place at Clash of Champions 2020.

Thankfully, this time we have an entire month to emphasize the rivalry of Reigns and Wyatt.

That is it for now. However, in the upcoming weeks, we’re sure to see more potential rivalries and feuds that could lead to the PPV.

At Clash of Champions, every WWE title will be on the line. Things are about to get very interesting.
