Shane McMahon made his shocking return to WWE with a new concept for Monday Night Raw called Raw Underground.

Featuring a ring with “no ropes and no rules,” the segment reminds us of the brawling fighting style found in MMA and UFC. Two weeks in, we’ve seen some talents like The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin), Dolph Ziggler, Dabba-Kato, Shayna Baszler, and Arturo Ruas participating in the matches.

Since the concept is “fresh” in WWE, the fans are looking forward to it.

It’s been quite a while since the women’s revolution took place, and fans are eager to see some women in the game.

From RAW, there is Shayna Baszler, and from Smackdown, there is Sonya Deville. They both have MMA backgrounds fitting perfectly to the atmosphere.

This Monday night, Baszler plummeted three talents alone. Baszler has already captured the NXT Women’s Championship twice, and Deville has gained a name for herself as part of the tag team, Fire and Desire, with Mandy Rose.

Along with Deville and Baszler, some other female wrestlers can wrestle in Underground like Natalya, Asuka, Dana Brooke and Lana.

Apart from the women, there are rumours that Brock Lesnar might come back to WWE with an Underground appearance. Samoa Joe could also return.

It is unknown whether there would be any titles in Underground, but speculations are there. Thankfully, according to reports, the viewership of RAW is slightly up. This week it is 1.722 Million compared to last week’s 1.715 million on the USA Network.

Underground is the brainchild of Shane O’Mac. WWE currently lacks writers due to COVID-19. The creatives are now relying on veteran talents’ ideas to keep the show going.

Only time will tell whether Underground could work in WWE’s favor or not. It has a lot of potential and opportunities to explore. The pressure and expectations are very high.
