A 38-year-old wrestler has outlined his goals by making sure that he achieves his destiny before Cody Rhodes can finish his story. As wrestlers get ready to battle it out, Rhodes plans on ending his story. However, one former WWE Champion decided that would not be the case. This star issued a warning to Rhodes, which may be foreshadowing how things will go down.

The show opened up with Rhodes coming out to talk to the audience in typical Rhodes fashion. While he wanted to recount his feud with Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre interrupted. After praising Rhodes for all he’s done in the WWE, things went south fast.

Despite reminiscing about the time the two were tag team partners called ‘The Dashing Ones’ back in 2010, McIntyre had a warning for Rhodes. He said, “You are going to finish the story, but not before I finish mine.” This is not something to say to the former AEW star, who has been on a mission for a year now, trying to complete his story.

McIntyre said, “Do you remember the last match I had before I returned to WWE? It was with you.” This was a WCPW reference where both men worked before returning to the WWE. Both men have a long history in the sport of pro wrestling.

However, Rhodes retorted by saying, “You told this story about the last match between you and I. Let me ask you something about it. Who won?” The match was won by Rhodes, which could foreshadow what we could see during the Rumble.

Rhodes could face McIntyre  ahead of the Royal Rumble

While it is certain that Rhodes and McIntyre will face each other at the Royal Rumble, there are chances that it could happen on the next episode of RAW. The go-home episode right before the Royal Rumble is where stories reach their peak before being resolved at the PLE. This is what we could see next week.

Rhodes and McIntyre could have a match that ends in DQ if the WWE wants both men to look strong entering the Rumble. This would lead to tension being at a fever pitch between both men. Finally, it would culminate at the Rumble, where both would square off among 28 other men for a chance at Rollin’s WWE World Heavyweight title.
