However, prior to turning WWE into an International giant, Hulk Hogan went through a lot of hardships and rigorous training sessions.

However, as time passed, Hogan improved his craft, and soon found his way into WWE. Although, the pathway to that stage was not easy, and Hogan went through a lot of pain and suffering to reach that stage. He had to leave his passion to join pro wrestling and undergo tough training under Hiro Matsuda.

Speaking on Hulk Hogan & Family, the documentary, Hogan’s mother revealed the hardships and pain his son had to go through before making it big in the industry.  Speaking, his mother revealed how Hogan had to leave his love for music.

She said, “He said, ‘mum, I am selling all my band equipment and I am going into wrestling.’ I said, ‘You gotta be kidding.’But he did just that and had a hard go at it.” Hulk Hogan was in a very active band during his college days, and his decision of leaving it had shocked his mother.

Hogan would later leave the band and join Matsuda for training. However, it turned out to be one of the toughest decisions of his life, since Matsuda made The Hulkster undergo a painful and tearful training.

Hulk Hogan’s training with Hiro Matsuda had left him broken in half

Hiro Matsuda was a legendary wrestling trainer. However, he was often infamous for his hard training routine and painful methods. During his career, he was known for training several top wrestlers, and among them was also Hulk Hogan. Hogan trained with Matsuda at his training centre, called, ‘snake pit.’

In his book, “Hollywood Hulk Hogan“, Hogan talked about his training experience. The 60-year-old trained under Matsuda. However, during one of the training routines, Matsuda went a step ahead, and broke Hogan’s shin bone in half.
