Comparing athletes from two different sports is among the favorite past times of fans. And when it comes to the toughness of the athletes involved, the debate just refuses to die down. Followers usually pick their favorite sports whenever the discussion comes up. What happens when an athlete themselves are put on the spot? That was certainly the case with famous WWE performer Seth Rollins recently.

He certainly is an experienced campaigner when it comes to the hard yards that he has put in. The former WWE champion has definitely been there and done it all. He recently provided his views on the comparisons between a wrestler and an NFL athlete. Rollins’ comments are sure to divide opinions amongst many. He was speaking to Sports Illustrated when he gave this statement.

Seth Rollins opens up on the comparison between wrestling and NFL

He said, “Oh, Professional wrestlers no doubt about it. Do you need a reason why? I mean we do this year-round. We don’t get no breaks, Baby. We’re doing it all the time. No season, No off-season, No recoup, No rehab, No none of that. We don’t got the trainers. We don’t got the staff The NFL’s got absolutely. Pro wrestlers are tougher no doubt about it.”

The WWE grand slam champion has opened up a can of worms that will find suitors on either side. While his point about the wrestlers is quite correct, NFL fans would not quite agree with his statement. The level of toughness that is required to be a Football athlete is certainly no mean feat. One thing is for sure, Rollins did not hold back in comparing wrestling with NFL.

Exciting times ahead for The Architect

The Architect recently qualified for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match. The US championship will be on the line during the intense match-up. Austin Theory is currently the incumbent of the acclaimed title. He along with Rollins and ‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley was part of a blockbuster encounter in November. Theory is speculated to compete against wrestler-turned-actor John Cena at the WrestleMania 39 event.

Comparing two different sports is never a good idea. It is like differentiating between apples and oranges with never a clear winner. While arguments can be made from both sides but it is certain to split opinions.
