In a match that would always be known as one of his greatest, Cody Rhodes beat Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in excellent fashion. But there is one moment that got many fans questioning their wrestling rules. After a flurry of offense from Lesnar, both inside and outside the ring, Rhodes got the help of the steel steps to get a one-up on ‘The Beast Incarnate’.
But the last time we checked, hitting your opponent with steel steps isn’t allowed in a normal singles match. It seems like the fans are also questioning it out loud.

It wasn’t until the two got out of the ring that Rhodes took the help of steel steps to deal a major blow to Lesnar. This was all it took for Rhodes to gain the momentum to finally take down The Beast. But according to many fans, this one move should’ve effectively disqualified Rhodes from the match itself.
Fans start questioning the legitimacy of Cody Rhodes’ victory over Brock Lesnar
Just as Rhodes got out of the ring, he got ahold of the steel steps and tried to hit Lesnar but missed wildly. After pushing Lesnar to the ring post, Rhodes hit him with the steps, this time connecting. But as seen in previous matches, this move automatically disqualifies the wrestler, and the fans are confused about it.
This fan thinks Rhodes should’ve been disqualified as soon as he used the steps.
