“It’s Just Embarrassing”: Millionaire Stand Up Comedian Once Went On an Unhinged Rant Against Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar made a much hyped return to UFC while still under a WWE contract in 2016. UFC put him in a fight against Mark Hunt for his comeback bout in the octagon. Being a WWE star brought more attention to The Beast and his fight at UFC 200. Lesnar secured a unanimous decision win over Hunt in his first fight with the promotion since 2011. However, it later came to light that Lesnar had failed his drug tests prior to the match and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) suspended the former heavyweight champion and they declared his win against Hunt as a no-contest.

This led to heavy criticism against The Beast Incarnate from many people who accused him of using steroids before his fight. Many celebrities also chimed in with their views on the incident. One of the people who spoke out against Lesnar was the comedian Joey Diaz. Diaz said the whole situation with Lesnar was embarrassing.

Diaz criticized Brock Lesnar for his alleged use of a banned substance

Brock Lesnar returned to UFC in 2016 amid much fanfare. During his first run with the company, he had arrived as a pro wrestler but managed to prove his doubters wrong. His return to the promotion after five years was highly anticipated. His popularity had increased further during his WWE run and when he decided to return to the octagon, it was much more hyped than the last time when he made the jump.

At UFC 200, he defeated Mark Hunt to announce his winning return to UFC. But things soon turned upside down. USDA flagged Lesnar for doping violations and declared his match as a no-contest. Furthermore, they handed Lesnar a one-year suspension.

A lot of MMA personalities shared their opinion on this incident. Many celebrities also gave their thoughts, including Hollywood star Kevin Hart. Apart from this, comedian Joey Diaz once also talked about Lesnar’s doping violation on the Joe Rogan podcast in 2017.

During this time there were rumors of a possible return for Lesnar to UFC and either Stipe Miocic or Daniel Cormier being his opponents. On the podcast, Diaz showed no mercy while talking about Lesnar’s failed drug test. He stated, “I hope they put him against Miocic. I will fly to f*****g Cleveland. Look at the size of his f*****g head. He’s taking sh*t that makes your f*****g head grow okay. It’s just embarrassing. They knew he was on the juice. He went in there loaded to the gills. It was just an embarrassing thing for everybody.”


A furious Diaz also said that Mark Hunt was right to be upset about the situation. The renowned standup comedian added, ” Mark Hunt had every f*****g right to be mad. They put him in there with a guy that’s coming off rocket f*****g fuel.”

Indeed, Diaz wasn’t happy about how the whole Lesnar-Hunt situation played out and the fact the WWE star was in violation of the drug policy. Although Brock Lesnar teased a return to the octagon after getting into a confrontation with Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, he has stayed away from the octagon. At the moment, Lesnar is enjoying life as a WWE star and may remain in the division for the foreseeable future.
