The feud between WWE and the UFC has been a long affair, one which started with the rise of the premier MMA promotion. The head honchos of the two biggest combat sports entities in the world, Dana White and Vince McMahon, like to take subtle digs at each other now and then.

Hence, keeping up with the tradition, UFC President Dana White added a new chapter to their rivalry as he compared his ‘scripting’ skills to those of the WWE kingpin in the garb of the UFC’s first pay-per-view of 2022, i.e. UFC 270: Ciryl Gane vs Francis Ngannou.

Speaking to ESPN, White said, “It doesn’t get any better than this. You know you got two guys that were training partners, came out of the same camps. Now, don’t like each other.”

“Stylistically, you got Francis Ngannou, who hits and destroys. And then you’ve got Ciryl Gane, who’s probably the best tactical heavyweight striker ever in UFC history. So, this is probably the second or third time I’ve said this in my career- Vince McMahon couldn’t write a better script than this.”

White ended up comparing WWE with UFC as both of the combat sports have an overlapping fanbase and followers also correlate both of them to decide which one is better.

However, there is no comparison between the two. While the UFC is a strict MMA promotion, the WWE is an entertainment-based product that promotes pre-scripted fights to match with its storylines.

Dana White blasts Vince McMahon after UFC 265

Dana White is a staunch businessman who only likes to focus on the UFC. Fans have witnessed this trait of the UFC President quite a few times. Recently, the CEO of Singapore-based MMA promotion ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, tried to lure White into a verbal spat but to no avail.

However, the WWE and Vince McMahon are a unique case for the 52-year-old, which is clear by White’s occasional comments on them.

Just last year, after UFC 265, White made similar comments on the WWE and Vince McMahon as he lauded the success of the pay-per-view.

“It doesn’t get any better than this. You couldn’t write it, you couldn’t script it. F***ing Vince [McMahon] couldn’t have wrote a better script for this whole thing. It’s beautiful,” White told the press.
