Brock Lesnar has made quite a name for himself in the world of combat sports. He arrived in WWE as The Next Big Thing and became a star real quick. After that, he quit WWE to pursue other interests and landed in the UFC. Here again, he proved his mettle and won the Heavyweight title in just his third fight. Lesnar has been a winner from the get-go and his intimidating presence adds to his aura. For the most part of his career, The Beast has played the role of the ultimate bad guy and has backed it up in the ring. Whether it was WWE or UFC, Lesnar was the pantomime villain for the most part.

His physique and stature also help his character in the ring. Lesnar comes off as a big bad guy with no remorse for what he does. His run as a no nonsense heel actually helped him get over and become famous.
However, his high school wrestling coach, John Schiley, once revealed interesting details about Lesnar’s personality in an interview.
What John Schiley said about Brock Lesnar?
Brock Lesnar’s rise to stardom in WWE was massive for his career at only 25 years of age. He got over as a monstrous heel who could take out anyone, and his strength was undisputed. A young, strong heel being handed the reins of the company was unprecedented in WWE.
After his return to the company in 2012, he looked even more menacing and was an extension of his real life personality to an extent. Lesnar destroyed his opponents in a nonchalant fashion and cared less about whether the fans booed or cheered him. He was playing the ultimate bad guy and WWE booked in a way that he looked unstoppable.

In 2016, in an interview with USA Today, Lesnar’s high school wrestling coach John Schiley revealed a lot of things about The Beast. Schiley oversaw Lesnar’s progress from when The Beast was a mere 5-years-old to a high school heavyweight. Not only this, but Lesnar worked on Schiley’s farm in exchange for gas money. Schiley said Lesnar had gone through a tough phase during his rise to popularity. He said it took him away from his roots, but he found his way back.
He also said Lesnar got his life back on track once he settled down. Schiley stated, “He knows he was a mess at one time and got away from his roots. His fame and fortune, his job, his money, everything came back to him when he got grounded again. ” Moreover, Lesnar’s former coach commented that despite gaining fame as a bad guy, he was a good person.
