Xbox Series X Will Automatically Enhance Dynamic Range In Games

One of the major achievements for any next-gen console is to preserve player data. Xbox Series X and S promise to pre-dominantly focus on this aspect. Every player handles a console for a considerable span of time. Over the years, they build a foundation in their passion for gaming that they expect to carry along the way.
Naturally, with time, new games take over the older ones. Yet the progression of each player in every yesteryear game is worth hundreds of hours of gaming.
Players build communities online and they make friends with whom they have shared these accomplishments. To throw it all away with the emergence of a new generation console is not something anybody ever looks forward to.

Xbox backwards compatibility program will take care of just that. In a Xbox Wire post today, Peggy Lo, Compatibility Program Lead, discussed how Xbox will manage the older generation games.
“We also fundamentally believe that not only should you be able to play all of your games from the past without needing to purchase them again, but they should also look, feel and play better on the next generation of Xbox consoles.”
Read on to find out the significant improvements achieved with Xbox Backwards Compatibility.
Xbox Series X and S with enhance performance in old games
Every backwards compatible game on Xbox will run with the full potential of the new age consoles. It will utilize every aspect of the GPU, CPU, and the SSD inside it. Furthermore, the load times will significantly reduce, thanks to the custom NVME SSD.
“All titles run at the peak performance that they were originally designed for, with significantly higher performance than their original launch platform, resulting in higher and more steady frame rates and rendering at their maximum resolution and visual quality.”

Every game will run on Auto- HDR
Xbox One S was the first console to introduce HDR in Xbox games. Even with Xbox One, some developers did not have the time or resources to implement HDR. What HDR essentially does is enhance the visual and colors in every frame.

Series X and S will sport a feature called Auto-HDR. This will allow any SDR game with backwards compatibility to run with HDR configuration in the console. The general visual aspect of that game will therefore drastically improve.
“Auto HDR automatically adds HDR enhancements to games which only shipped with SDR. Auto HDR enhances the visual quality of an SDR game without changing the original artistic intent of the game.”
This function takes full advantage of the high-end specifications inside the console. Therefore, players will not experience any latency that will downgrade their gaming experience.
