Xbox Series X/S got their worldwide release on November 10. Even though the hardware capabilities of the new console are unexampled, there is something that has left the fans dissatisfied. The Xbox, unlike PlayStation 5, lacked exclusives at launch.

So while the fans were eagerly waiting for the new console, their wait for an exclusive title has been stretched further. Halo Infinite was supposed to fill that void, but its delay caused a lot of havoc in the gaming community.

The acquisition of ZeniMax Media served as damage control, adding a magnificent series of Bethesda titles to Xbox’s Game Pass. However, setbacks just keep coming, as yet another Xbox exclusive has been delayed.

Xbox patrons utterly disappointed with yet another delay

Developers of CrossfireX have confirmed that the launch of the title has been delayed to 2021. The devs have announced the ongoing pandemic as the driving reason behind this delay.

CrossfireX is an FPS and a remake of the original title. It will also appear on a console for the first time since 2007 when the original title was released.

The remake comprises two components: a single-player battle and a free to play multiplayer mode which is more or less like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

This is what the official Twitter post said, “After much deliberation, and in consideration of the challenges faced by the Slimegate development team due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of CrossfireX to 2021. Moving our release will allow us to deliver the Crossfire experience on console our team set out to create.”

They set the game to walk the ramp this year for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. However, a loss of personnel because of the ongoing pandemic seems to be the primary reason behind this delay.

No official date of release has been announced by the devs. We will probably hear more from them in the subsequent weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
