If there is something hot in the world of MMA, you can expect Chael Sonnen to talk about it. In one of his recent YouTube videos, the former UFC middleweight challenger took his time to take a dig at Francis Ngannou. The reason for this criticism is Ngannou’s recent interview with The DAZN MMA Show. According to ‘The American Gangster’, the heavyweight sensation spent too much of his time on the interview, criticizing UFC rather than talking about his present endeavors.

He also compared Ngannou’s action to a girl he dated earlier in his life who couldn’t get over, her middle school sweetheart. The NCAA alumni also suggested the former heavyweight be ‘indifferent’ to his former employer rather than hating on them. Sonnen said:

“It would seem as though boxing would be the one we would be leaning towards but we don’t have a boxing match lined up and the bad news with that is there was not a boxing promoter that lines up with Lepitar. That was done by PFL, so you owe them to talk about, but you don’t have a date, you don’t have an opponent, you have nothing.”

Earlier this year, Francis Ngannou left UFC following a failed negotiation with the promotion. Ever since then, the hard-hitting fighter has been vocal about his alleged unfair treatment by UFC. Recently, the fighter also clashed in a war of words with his former rival, Jon Jones. In a similar fashion to Chael, ‘Bones’ took a dig at the Cameroonian-French fighter for quitting just a few months before their long-awaited super fight at UFC 285.

Francis Ngannou has serious boxing ambitions

After months of failed negotiations, Francis Ngannou has finally signed with Professional Fighters League or PFL. The American promotion inked a 2-million-dollar contract with the UFC Veteran last Tuesday. It was Chael Sonnen who had earlier broken the news of the deal before it was officially confirmed. This means it is likely that the UFC veteran will soon be a part of PFL’s heavyweight tournament or PPV. But instead of the MMA cage, Francis seems more interested in making his debut in the boxing ring.

In his interview with The DAZN MMA Show, ‘Predator’ hinted at a possible ‘tune-up’ boxing match later this year. He also mentioned his ambitions with The Money team and expressed his desire to face boxing star, Deontay Wilder. According to the Predator, he will likely face the former WBC heavyweight champions sometime in 2024. This is good news for Ngannou’s fans who are waiting for the heavyweight fighter to return to the action. He was last seen inside the ring against Cyril Gane at their UFC 270 clash in January last year.
