Twitch has seen its fair share of controversial streamers ever since it came into existence. While the likes of Ice Poseidon and Dr Disrespect have received permanent bans, others, including Tyler1 and xQc, have seen lenient behavior from the platform. Regardless, many viewers still consider them to be ‘toxic’. Not only do they characterize the streamers but also call their communities toxic.

In a previous instance, even Disguised Toast implied that xQc is a toxic streamer and his large army of fans keeps on defending him. This makes his fans all the same, that is, toxic, just as the streamer. Surprisingly, Toast’s friend Sykkuno, who is also a member of the Amigops, has on many occasions defended xQc.

Sykkuno has spent quite some time playing with the French-Canadian streamer on the NoPixel 3.0 GTA RP server. During this time, he grew quite fond of him and even backed him up on the various occasions xQc got banned. As the discussion about his community being toxic arises once again, Sykkuno had a few words to say.

Fans often generalize xQc and his community

The biggest reason why people end up criticizing streamers and their communities is the rampant generalization. Just because of a few negative elements in a streamer’s chat, the whole community gets tagged as toxic. Similarly, when a streamer such as xQc slips up in rage or irritation, as he did recently when he received a perma ban from the GTA RP server, people start calling them toxic.

On the other hand, Sykkuno is of the belief that people should look at the complete picture. According to the popular Twitch streamer, people should single out the negative elements. Additionally, they should correct what’s wrong instead of simply blaming the whole chat.

I think it’s more important to single out what actually goes wrong. I’ve seen people say this chat’s toxic. You’re not even talking about what’s going wrong. You’re just randomly blaming it on some streamer’s chat instead of saying you shouldn’t be saying this to people. Or like, you shouldn’t flame people for that. You’re just blaming some chat when you should actually be saying don’t be toxic on the internet.”

Sykkuno feels this not only applies to xQc and his community but almost all the streamers that people consider to be toxic. Unfortunately, he’s much far away from what seems to be the popular opinion on this issue, and even he knows that.
