On September 13, the tennis world was witness to an amazing moment – Dominic Thiem won his first Grand Slam title. It obviously didn’t come easy as the Austrian had to fight back from 2 sets down. But, in the end, he was finally victorious after losing out on three other opportunities. After this win, Novak Djokovic congratulated him, as he said,
“Domi, congratulations. You deserve it probably more than anybody else to win a first Grand Slam title. And you won it in an incredible fashion coming back from 2 sets down. I am sure you are proud of yourself and you should be and I want to congratulate your family and everyone who has helped you throughout your career to get to this point. Well done man, keep going and I’ll see you soon.”

Novak Djokovic At Italian Open
Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem will meet soon but it won’t happen at the Italian Open. Due to the scheduling, the Austrian had to pull out after he reached the US Open final.
However, the Serb has already arrived in Rome. He has started his training and he will be playing his first match very soon.
Novak will be eyeing his fifth title in Rome and if he wins it, it would give us a fair idea of his chances at the French Open.
The Serb won the title back in 2016 and he definitely wants to win it again as there is a big achievement in store for him – the Double Career Slam. No one has done it in the Open Era but hopefully, that will change when the event begins on September 27.
