The war of words between leading male players Borna Coric and Nick Kyrgios continues. They have been taking shots at each other over the last few days and Coric has once again replied to Kyrgios’ criticism.

It all started last month, when Kyrgios criticized the players who participated in the Adria Tour after Coric and a few others tested positive for the coronavirus. They were seen as ignoring safety precautions.

Kyrgios posted on Twitter, “You should care. Do you have rocks in your head? Again, you can stand up for your mates, I’m just trying to hold them accountable. When I said what I said, I didn’t intend to bother. They are tennis players, they aren’t special. Just as I thought Coric intellectual level = 0.”

In another tweet he said, “@borna_coric Just making sure that you spuds didn’t cause more players to feel like Dimitrov. Have you read how he continued to feel after he tested negative? Or that’s too much for that brain of yours to process?”

Coric did not take kindly to Kyrgios’ comments

To this, Coric replied on Thursday, asking Kyrgios, “Really @NickKyrgios??? You’re preaching about behavior?? Bored much or too much (emojis of wine glasses)?”

Earlier, Kyrgios had lashed out at players who were part of the Adria Tour. To this, Coric replied by saying, “It’s just him, I have no other explanation. I read what he wrote, but I totally care because he also likes to be a general after the battle. If someone else was reading the lessons, I might have understood, but Kyrgios.”

He went on to add, “Somehow it’s not realistic. But okay, that’s his style, that’s how it works and I don’t have a problem with that, nor do I mind on a personal level. Zverev acted badly, but I don’t see the need to name fellow players that way. I wouldn’t do that, but again – it’s Kyrgios.”

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Kyrgios is set to skip the US Open next month after he did not enter his name for the Cincinnati Open.
