Sebastian Vettel has not had a good start to the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. He had a poor weekend, to begin with, starting the race in P11. However, it only got worse after lights out. Vettel spun out on the first lap after taking a lot of curb on turn 1, thus putting him at the very back of the grid.

The German did start to recover and gain positions but he was not at all happy with his strategy. Having been behind Carlos Sainz after his pitstop, Vettel got on the team radio and let Ferrari know that he wasn’t best pleased.

Vettel was heard saying, “This is the gap that we didn’t like, we spoke about it this morning. I’ll hang in there, but you know you’ve messed up.” Vettel’s radio message only further spices up the environment between the German and his team.

Charles Leclerc has had a much better weekend then his German teammate. Having started the race in P8, he dropped to P10 early on but has recovered pretty well. Unlike a number of other drivers struggling to keep their tires in good condition, Leclerc has done a good job.

The Monegasque has managed to finish in P4  and looks well set to earn some vital points for his team. Surely by this time many, including Vettel, will be thinking, are the two Ferrari drivers racing the same car. The answer seems to be a big no.
