In last year’s Australian Open, the 20-year-old didn’t feature as she suffered from a knee injury. Due to the injury, she did not compete in any of the Grand Slam events held last season. Bianca returned back on Tour recently at this year’s first Major.

In the earlier round, the 35-year-old Chinese Taipei player beat Bulgarian player Tsvetana Pironkova in straight sets, in a match that lasted 76 minutes. After beating Andreescu today, Su-Wei Hsieh will play the Italian professional Sara Errani in the third round on Friday.
