After Gareth Bale‘s agent, Jonathan Barnett’s comments on Zinedine Zidane being disrespectful towards his client Bale, the Real Madrid manager denied the claims saying he did not disrespect anyone.

“First, I have not disrespected anyone, especially a player of ours. I always say the same thing. The players are most important and I will always be with my players, Zidane was quoted as saying. “Second, I said the club were trying to sell the player, nothing more.”

The former French international also said that his Spanish can sometimes be misinterpreted. “It’s true that sometimes my Spanish causes mischief, but I want to be clear,” Zidane said.

Zidane aslo clarified on why Bale did not play the match against Bayern Munich saying that it was Bale’s choice. “The other day Gareth didn’t play because he didn’t want to. He said the club was trying to negotiate his departure he and didn’t want to play because of that.”

Zidane also said that Bale is currently a Real Madrid player and that is what mattered the most.

“Now let’s go back to the start. He is a Real Madrid player, nothing has changed. He will train normally, and tomorrow is tomorrow so we will see what happens.

“You know the situation and you know what is happening with the club. Gareth is a player in the Real Madrid team,” Zidane said.
