The Latest Addition by NBA Inside the Orlando Bubble Has Made People Compare Real Life to NBA 2K

NBA has been trying to do everything they can to make the players feel comfortable. Despite complaints about the food, the Orlando bubble is a relatively liberal space that allows the players a fair amount of freedom. However, there are many conveniences of the regular world that the bubble doesn’t have. The league is changing that slowly, and they have started by adding a barbershop to the bubble.
Former NBA Champion and Brooklyn Nets coach Tiago Splitter put up a picture of a barbershop that was built inside the bubble. The caption reads “They set up this barbershop in one day! Amazing!”

Adding a convenience like a barbershop inside the bubble is more important than one would assume. Even though they are basketball players first, a whole lot of players care about how they look. You rarely see players with really long hair. Even the ones with long hair need professional help to make their cornrows or dreads tight enough to get through an NBA game. The NBA is trying to make the players feel more at home, and we can expect a lot of players to frequent this barbershop a few times a week.
NBA Bubble or NBA 2K Neighbourhood?
Fans aren’t as enthused as the players about this addition. They have mocked the barbershop and are claiming that the NBA is essentially building the Neighbourhood from NBA 2K20 into the bubble. This goes from all the courts lined up next to each other to now, the barbershop.
Here are some fan reactions to the news.

BRO YOU CAN NOT TELL ME NBA IS NOT TURNING INTO 2K THIS END OF THE YEAR! If I see Disney handing out their own currency to the players around courts then I'm done. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/8WBb0UOPSP

NBA 2K’s Neighbourhood allows a virtual platform for players of the game to interact like they would at basketball parks in real life. The 2K Neighbourhood is full of outdoor courts to indoor courts, with each serving a different purpose. They also have ATM’s within the neighbourhood so that players can buy virtual currency. This can then be spent on in-game items like clothes, shoes and even haircuts.
At this point, NBA 2K probably shouldn’t bother programming a new neighbourhood for 2K21 and just paste the Orlando campus onto the game, so the fans get a chance to live the bubble life.
