The New Year’s Day event has officially ended in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As usual, a new month will bring with itself heaps of new critters for the players to catch.
In the same way, some critters will also be leaving your island and won’t appear for a long time. For the ones that will be available at the beginning of a new year, there is no rush to catch them as they will stick around for much longer than a month.
Sadly, the players in the Northern Hemisphere won’t be getting any new critters this month. However, winter is in full swing and for those who haven’t caught the critters available during the season, this serves as a perfect opportunity to do so.

Apart from these critters, the players can also find an array of new flowers and trees on their islands. Thankfully, players in the Northern Hemisphere do get some perks in this department, unlike the case with critters.
These flowers can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny. But it is important to note that Tom Nook will only give you flower seeds. These then need to be planted and will require care and attention. The following is a list of flower seeds that will be available this month.
Here are the three species of flower seeds up for sale at Nook’s Cranny during the month of January in the Northern Hemisphere.
- Pansy
- Windflower
