‘I Want to Kill You’- When Rafael Nadal and Nico Rosberg Went Toe-To-Toe on Rafa’s Private Yacht

‘Rafa, Rafa’, the Rod Laver Arena erupted as Daniil Medvedev failed to return the backhand volley of Rafael Nadal. The Spanish legend created history with his victory over Medvedev in the summit clash of the Australian Open 2022. Nadal overtook Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the race for most Grand Slam titles and became the first man to lift 21 Grand Slam singles titles.

The 35-year-old put up an incredible show in the final to come back from two sets down. Nadal’s fellow players and former tennis greats were left in awe of his winning mentality. Subsequently, they congratulated him on achieving this historic feat.

Recently, a video surfaced wherein 2016 Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg took a tour inside Rafael Nadal’s new yacht ‘Great White’.

The tennis and Formula 1 legends geared up for the ‘World Ambassador Cup’. Nadal emphasized, “I want to kill you.” Further, Rosberg, while preparing to serve said “I don’t like coming second, so I take this thing damn seriously.” The two were engrossed in a long opening rally and trying to be focused. The tennis ace won that point after Rosberg hit the ball out of the table.

However, Rosberg came back to win the second point to tie the score-line 1-1. Nadal started to play aggressively as he forced the former F1 driver to make an error. At 2-2. the golden point was won by Nadal after Rosberg’s return hit the net. The two players enjoyed the battle and decided to continue the match to 11 points. The game proceeded with Rosberg making a fine comeback. The scoreline read 10-8 in Nico’s favor at match point. To catch Nadal off-guard, Nico said, “Prince Albert (Prince of Monaco) is visiting us.” This resulted in Nadal losing focus and the former World Champion won the ‘World Ambassador Cup’.

Nadal would aim to continue his winning start to the 2022 season in the coming tournaments. He will next play at Abierto Mexicano in Acapulco, Mexico which is an ATP 500 tournament.
