Nick Kyrgios has been enjoying his time off-court since the Australian Open. The Australian has been highly active on social media, regularly updating his fans and followers about his day-to-day activities.  Today morning was no less. The 26-year-old Kyrgios attended a basketball match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. However, what turned out to be the highest point for Kyrgios in the match was him meeting the basketball legend LeBron James.

Kyrgios last played at the 2022 Australian Open. Even though he faced a second-round exit in the singles draw, Nick overshadowed the loss with a record-breaking performance in the doubles draw. Kyrgios and fellow countryman Thanasi Kokkinakis created history by becoming the first Australian pair to win the Australian Open men’s doubles title since 1997.

Kyrgios meets LeBron James in a basketball game

Nick Kyrgios is in the United States of America to compete in the ‘Sunshine Doubles’ (ATP Masters Indian Wells and ATP Masters Miami). He is currently in California, training for the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells. However, taking some time out from his high intensity training, Kyrgios went to attend an NBA match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. He was accompanied by his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi.

Kyrgios took to his Instagram account, uploading a series of stories related to the match. One story that caught everyone’s attention was him meeting the basketball legend, Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James. In the Instagram story, Kyrgios was sitting in the first row of the stands when LeBron James came to meet him, both having a handshake.

After the handshake, LeBron went on to meet his team mates. However, what amused the fans was Kyrgios’s reaction. The highly energetic Nick dropped his phone will shooting his handshake with LeBron. Picking his phone, Nick continued shooting James as he prepared for the match.

Nick Kyrgios in the Sunshine Doubles

Nick Kyrgios last played at the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells in 2019. Entering the tournament as the 31st seed, Kyrgios was awarded a first-round bye. However, failing to use the bye as an advantage, Nick was stunned in the second round of the tournament by Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Hoping to perform better, Kyrgios next entered the ATP Masters 1000 Miami. Receiving a first-round bye, Kyrgios cruised through the next two rounds with ease. However, the happiness was short-lived as he faced a fourth-round loss against Borna Coric.
