Stefanos Tsitsipas, the talented Greek international tennis player, has recently faced a downfall in his form, raising concerns among his fans. Following a disappointing performance at Wimbledon, where he was ousted in the round of 16 by Chris Eubanks, Tsitsipas decided to make a critical change in his coaching staff ahead of the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the season. Tsitsipas recently came up with a decision and decided to part ways with his father, who was also his coach.

Instead, he opted to hire experienced former tennis pro Mark Philippoussis, in a bid to regain his form and revitalize his career. Following his separation from his father, he went on to state the reasons why it did not go well with him.

Stefanos Tsitsiaps came up with the decision just ahead of the US Open. The tournament is about to start from 28th August and Tsitsipas will be hoping to bring back his best form. Despite their close relationship, Tsitsipas felt that training with his father became increasingly challenging as he matured as a player.

“The more I go older, it’s more challenging to me to train with my dad, but he’s the right person for me. We’ve different point of views, but he gives me different perspectives. It’s stressful at times,” said Tsitsipas about parting ways with his father.

In a heartfelt admission, he acknowledged that their differing points of view sometimes led to stressful situations.

Recognizing the need for a fresh perspective, Tsitsipas took the decision to seek guidance from an external source to propel him forward in his professional journey.

Mark Philippoussis, the Australian coach, is not a stranger to Tsitsipas. The two had been working together in some capacity since 2020, and Philippoussis played a crucial role in Tsitsipas’ success, particularly leading him to the final of the French Open in 2021. Known for his calm and composed nature, Philippoussis brought stability and balance to Tsitsipas’ tennis game.
