‘You Are a Small Cat’: Daniil Medvedev Lashes Out at Chair Umpire as He Complains of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ Father

Daniil Medvedev has had a mixed start to the 2022 season. The Russian lost his first match of the season at the ATP Cup in Sydney, Australia. However, he has come back strongly thereafter and is on an eight-match winning streak. However, he has had to fight hard for his victories at the Australian Open 2022.
During his matches, he has been involved in some arguments and heated moments. One such incident occurred during his semi-finals against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

What did Daniil Medvedev say to the chair umpire?
After being 5-4 down in the second set, Daniil Medvedev was unhappy with Stefanos Tsitsipas’ father talking too much. He was livid and screamed at the chair umpire that Tsitsipas’ father “is talking every point”.

Additionally, he screamed at the chair umpire, “His father can talk every point?! Are you stupid? His father can talk every point?! Oh my god! Oh my god you are so bad, man! How can you be so bad in semifinals of Grand Slam?” Medvedev got a ‘visible obscenity’ code violation for bursting out.

The match is evenly poised with the Russian winning the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5).

However, Stefanos Tsitsipas has come back strongly to win the second set 6-4.
