In a speech delivered to Serbian media, Novak Djokovic’s father has called the Australian Prime Minister a ‘dictator’. Further, he requested Queen Elizabeth to intervene in his son’s visa cancelation saga. This statement follows the alleged false claims from the Djokovic family that Australian authorities were seeking to arrest Novak despite his victory.
Srdjan Djokovic said, “Autocracy has shown its true face today. Contrary to the decision of the independent court of Australia, dictator Scott ordered the arrest of my son, your world champion, Novak Djokovic, and deportation, banning him from entering the country for three long years.” He further went on to add, “The court showed that law exists in Australia, but Scott dared to take justice into his own hands.”

The decision to cancel World Number 1’s visa was quashed by the Federal Circuit Court. Subsequently, the court ordered the Serbian’s release from hotel detention. However, the 20-time Grand Slam champion’s participation at the Australian Open is not yet guaranteed despite his win at the court yesterday.
The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Alex Hawke holds the power to personally intervene and cancel Djokovic’s visa. If his visa is canceled by Alex Hawke, Djokovic won’t be able to enter Australia for three years. If this happens, we might have already seen the last of Novak Djokovic at the Rod Laver Arena.
