A 19-year-old American star who competed in the ATP Next Gen Finals is in the same boat as he wishes to play against the Djoker one day.

Alex Michelsen is a young ATP gun who has grown exponentially since he turned professional. The American player has shown his potential many times this year, which might make his wish come true.

Alex Michelsen entered this year ranked 600. However, he rose quite quickly and now sits at 97. His growth is a sign that he is improving steadily and is looking to go even higher next year. He managed to play in the US Open this year, where he won his singles debut at a grand slam. His confidence has improved quite a bit since then, and he is ready to take on the most significant challenge tennis has to offer at the moment.

In an interview with the official ‘X’ page of Next Gen ATP Finals, Alex Michelsen was asked about his dream match-up. He did not have to think for long when he said, “I’d love to play Novak because he’s the GOAT.” When asked about his thoughts about winning in such a match, he said, “Probably not, but good experience to play Novak.”

Alex Michelsen pulls off astounding moves

The Instagram account of ATP Challenger recently shared a video that showcased the skill of the 19-year-old American player. He was serving for a crucial point in the match and ran to the net; his opponent played a lob, which forced him to fall back and hit a tweener. The ball went over his opponent’s head, who also played a tweener.

Michelsen then played a volley and faced a lob, which he returned with a tweener once again. He completed a triple-tweener attack and won the point in great fashion. His skills have shown that he is ready to move higher up the ATP ladder, and if he continues to improve, he will find himself among the stars of the ATP one day.
