Arthur Fils finally made his swift way to the  Next Gen ATP finals tournament but that might not be the biggest surprise of his life. Fils recently received an invitation from his idol and none other than Rafael Nadal to train with him for a week. Following Nadal’s invitation for training, Fils’s fans are surely excited as hell to see the best of Arthur Fils in the Next Gen ATP finals.

Fils will face off against Hamad Medjedovic in the finals in Lyon. There has been great excitement among people to see who takes away the trophy. However, for Arthur Fils, Nadal’s invitation is truly his first victory in professional tennis. Fans are hoping that Nadal will offer the best to Fils for smashing Medjedovic hard during the finals in Lyon.

This 19-year-old French tennis star Arthur Fils expressed his love for Nadal previously this year when he showed his disappointment hearing Nadal’s absence from this season’s Rolland Garros. However, Fils’s disappointment is hopefully gone now that he is invited to train with Nadal for a week in Kuwait. Fils commented-“He very kindly invited me. I’m going to give it my all. I’m going to try not to get too carried away on his forehands (smiles). I’m going to get the most out of it.”

Fils’s comment surely expresses his ultimate fanboy moment. Now he can’t be blamed right? It is Rafael Nadal, the king of the clay court’s invitation for training! Many eminent tennis players would probably kill for this opportunity and now it is a reality for France’s tennis prodigy Arthur Fils.

Fils’s admiration for Nadal is not new. Previously he spoke about idealizing Roger Federer. However, while growing up it was Nadal’s game and fighting spirit that stole his heart. Fils said-“My idol was Roger, but the more we grow up, the more we appreciate watching Rafa play, his fighting spirit, his game.”

Fils commented about Medjedovic saying-“We played juniors together, so I know that he has an unbelievable serve. The fastest of the tournament. It’s going to be a tough one. I’m going to need to know exactly how to play, with good tactics, but I think that it’s going to be a good match for sure.”
