Twitter sees mixed reactions as the roof closes down during the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2021
Fans had multiple reactions on Twitter after the authorities decided to close the roof of the Centre Court. A fan wrote, “Tennis needs to take a good look at how scheduling is being done in slams & the tour. Hurkacz will be playing 3rd day in a row & with almost a day’s less rest compared to Federer! Shouldn’t happen especially when there was a roof available to complete match.”

Com’on close the centre court roof.
How can you lose that set Federer? 😰😢 #Wimbledon— Janani (@njan85) July 7, 2021
Some even claimed that this is some kind of a conspiracy by the Wimbledon Championships’ authorities as they decided to close the roof even when the sky is cloudless.
A fan tweeted, “Possible match-fixing at Wimbledon. They close the roof on a cloudless sky just as Federer is about to serve and Federer serves immediately. Almost feels like Federer was waiting for it.”
