This Russian tennis star recently dropped a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) where Rublev thanked the committee for changing the course of ATP’s initial decision to disqualify Rublev and take all his rank points and prize money from his last week’s earnings. Instead of apologizing for abusing the line umpire, Rublev stood by his actions. Now this entitled attitude of the Russian ATP star made his fans quite angry. Although Rublev mentioned being a better person and better player at the end of his statement, his fans weren’t convinced since he didn’t accept his fault.

Rublev called the line umpire a “f***ing m***n” when the umpire favored Rublev’s opponent Bublik in the match’s second set and brought a close line call favoring the latter to seal the game. Believing this was an unjustified decision, Rublev lashed out at the umpire and remarked. Nonetheless, fans expected the Russian ATP pro to be mature enough to accept his misbehavior and apologize.
