On day three of the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal had a tough encounter with Yannick Hanfmann of Germany. Nadal won the match in the end, but he had to fight hard for it. After the match, Rafa had some interesting comments about the secret behind his fitness. The Spaniard has always been one of the fittest athletes on tour and many people wonder the secret to Nadal’s fitness. But now, the secret is finally revealed.

Rafael Nadal played some incredible tennis against the German, as the 20-time Grand Slam champion won 6-2,6-3,6-4. The scorecard looks straightforward, but Rafa had to face some tough shots from the German. The German’s forehand troubled Rafa on quite a few occasions. But in the end, Rafa prevailed and won the match in straight sets in 2 hours 42 minutes.

After his match against Yannick Hanfmann, Rafael Nadal had an on-court interview with Jim Courier. Jim asked Rafa about the secret behind his amazing longevity and fitness. In reply, Rafa joked that he plays Golf to stay fit, to the amusement of the crowd. Rafa also said that he has never been a gym guy and doesn’t spend too much time in the gym.
“I play some golf. Honestly, and that’s the true, I have never been a gym guy,” Nadal said during the interview.

Rafa also praised his opponent for giving him a good fight and said he has a great future. He also recalled playing Hanfmann earlier, at the French Open.
Who is Rafa’s opponent in round three?

After breezing through the first two rounds, The Spaniard could face a tough challenge in round three. The 20-time Grand Slam champion’s possible opponent could be Karen Khachanov, the big-serving Russian. Khachanov is currently up against Benjamin Bonzi of France in his second round tie.
