“I Think He Is Unstoppable”- Rafael Nadal Says Carlos Alcaraz Garfia Is the Next Big Thing in Tennis

The ongoing tournament has turned sweet for the Spanish tennis fans. Two of their players have secured their position in the semi-finals. However, it is going to be tough for them at the same time as both the players will face each other in the race to the finals. The legendary Rafael Nadal and the rising Carlos Alcaraz Garfia will see each other on the court.

Nadal shared his thoughts about playing against Carlos in the upcoming match in Indian wells by saying, I think he is unstoppable in terms of his career. He has all the ingredients he has the passion, he is humble enough to work hard. He is a good guy. Reminds me of a lot of things, then when I was 17 or 18 years old kid. He has the passion, he has talent, and physical component.”

 Further, Nadal looked very optimistic about the young player’s career and thrilled for having such a significant player listed under the name of his country.

“I am super happy. Of course he is gonna be a great rival for now for the next couple of months without a doubt but thinking and being selfish is great to have such a star from my country.”

“For the tennis lover, we are gonna keep enjoying an amazing player fighting for the most important titles for the next, I don’t know, how many years, a lot of years. That’s my feeling… He is a countryman, he is a great guy and I like him. I wish him all the very best.” He added.

Rafael Nadal so far in the Indian Wells

Nadal is performing excellently in the current tournament. Be it in terms of mental strength or shots or agility and flexibility, he’s been splendid. Nadal started the tournament with a playoff against Sebastian Korda, followed by a match against Dan Evans in the 3rd round. Nadal took an easy win against Reilly Opelka by winning two consecutive sets in the 4th round.

However, Nadal admitted he made some mistakes in the quarterfinals. He faced Kyrgios in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells though he made some mistakes in the beginning his momentum helped him win the match.

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia- The next opponent

Rafael Nadal is to face the second youngest Indian Wells men’s quarterfinalist. The 18-year-old Carlos is more than happy about himself reaching the semifinals. He expressed the same by saying, “It’s so special to be able to play my first semi-final in a Masters1000 here in Indian Wells, in Tennis Paradise,”

“I’m enjoying every single second. I have no words to describe my feelings right now.”Alcaraz said post-match.

Carlos shared, “I think this time I trained with him a couple of times, I know more how to play against him. I think now it’s going to be a little bit different this match. Obviously, he can destroy me again, but I don’t know what is going to happen.”

Although Nadal is an idol to Carlos, he would give his best against him in the semifinals. The young Spanish professional currently ranking at 19 is all set to go against World no.4 Nadal.
