The Australian tennis star, Nick Kyrgios, has always found himself making headlines, either for his terrific game or for his periodic outbursts. However, the 27-year-old has never been shy about sharing his opinion, even if it is his to express his dislike for someone. And back in 2019, while serving his insults for 2 of the big-3 players, Kyrgios opened up about a Spanish tennis veteran.

However, Kyrgios had a lot more in store than just harsh words for the Spanish star.

Back in 2019, on a “No Challenges Remaining” podcast at Rome Masters, Kyrgios spoke about Verdasco, saying, “Verdasco drives me nuts, man. That guy … I don’t even want to talk about it.”

But this was just the start. He further added, “It gets me so vexed, I’m like angry now that I just hear that name. He’s the most arrogant person ever.”

Further, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist didn’t stop there. He went on to disregard Verdasco’s skills, among many other things. He said, “He doesn’t say hello, he thinks he’s so good, he thinks he’s God’s gift. Dude, your backhand’s pretty average, and let’s be honest, you hit a ball over a net.”

Kyrgios also expressed his frustration with Djokovic, with whom he now shares a bromance, in the same podcast. He blasted Djokovic for ‘obsessing’ to be like Roger Federer. And further disregarded the Serb’s way of greeting and thanking the crowd after the match. Moreover, there was one more person who was at the receiving end, Rafael Nadal. The Australian considered the Spaniard his polar opposite and ‘super salty.’

However, the Australian had a few calm and appreciating words for Rafa, while hoping for his speedy recovery, after the Spaniard had to withdraw from the Wimbledon 2022 semi-final.
