Marton Fucsovics Says Novak Djokovic Has No Right to Play in the Australian Open

The saga of Novak Djokovic’s medical exemption in Australia reached a major milestone on Monday when judge Anthony Kelly gave the verdict in favor of the Serbian. As a result, the current World no.1 should finally have the chance to play in this year’s Australian Open.
Many current and ex-players expressed their happiness for Novak. However, it seems like Marton Fucsovics, the Hungarian no.1 tennis player, doesn’t agree with the verdict. He feels Djokovic has no right to play the Grand Slam, as the rules were simple and Novak didn’t follow them.

Marton Fucsovics expressed his disappointment with Djokovic’s actions
The World No.38, Marton Fucsovics was brutally honest about the whole Djokovic saga. He didn’t like the fact that Djokovic is getting special treatment, while others are following the rules.
During an interview, the Hungarian said, “People’s health is paramount, and there are rules that were outlined months ago, namely that everyone should vaccinate themselves–and Djokovic didn’t. From this point of view, I don’t think he would have the right to be here.”

Tennis world reacts to the Novak Djokovic verdict
While Marton Fucsovics didn’t like the outcome of the verdict, Rafael Nadal, Novak’s biggest rival, feels happy for the Serb. In an interview with Onda Cero, the Spaniard said, “Whether or not I agree with Djokovic on some things, justice has spoken… he has the right to participate in the Australian Open… I wish him the best of luck.”
All the drama surely halted Djokovic’s preparations for the Australian Open, which is scheduled for 17th January. After winning the court case, he’s finally back on the court and getting prepared for the Grand Slam.

He posted a picture on Twitter with his team practicing in Melbourne and wrote, “I’m pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete at the Australian Open. I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans.”

The Australian Open will begin his journey on 17th January and maybe we will see Novak lift his 21st Grand Slam title on 30th January.
