‘More Than a Partnership’: Gael Monfils Is Excited to Start a New Chapter After Parting Ways With Wilson

The artistic Gael Monfils of France has parted ways with Wilson Sporting Goods company after nine long years. World No. 21 was using Wilson’s racquet since 2012. Monfils looks excited as he starts a new chapter with Artengo.

With Wilson, he has won several titles on the ATP Tour. The Frenchman also achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 6 with Wilson in November 2016. Monfils will be starting his 2022 season at Adelaide International as the number one seed.

Gael Monfils announced separation with Wilson

Gael Monfils is widely regarded fans’ favorite because of the unorthodox shots he possesses. He has split his nine years of partnership with Wilson Sporting Goods. Monfils signed a deal with Wilson for racquet in 2012, and since then he has had several victories across the globe.

Using the Wilson racket, Monfils has achieved six titles and a total of 296 wins across all tournaments. In 2021, Gael became just the 11th active player to register 500 ATP wins. He achieved this milestone by beating Alex De Minaur at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.

Monfils signed Artengo

After ending the long partnership with Wilson, Gael Monfils has decided to start a fresh season with Artengo, an in-house tennis brand for Decathlon. Decathlon is one of the largest sports retailers and has 1500 stores across 60 countries. Monfils posted an exclusive video announcing his endorsement with Artengo.

It’s a new adventure, a new page, a new chapter working with Artengo. For me, it’s more than a partnership. It’s really living it 100%, that’s what is most important,” Monfils stated while signing the deal.

World No. 21 has a five-year partnership with Artengo, and he might debut the “TR960 Control Tour” frame in 2022. Monfils will start the Adelaide International as the No. 1 seed in Adelaide and has a bye into the second round, where he will face Juan Manuel Cerundolo of Argentina.
