I had said my parents had never seen me win Wimbledon in person, or even seen me play at Wimbledon at all. Bridgette spoke with my sisters and it got back to my parents that I wanted them there. So they flew over and all they asked was not to be seated in the player’s box and not be seen on television. But I knew they were there and that meant a lot to me,” wrote Sampras in his book.
