Nick Kyrgios, the Australian tennis ace, is an outspoken person who doesn’t like to keep his thoughts to himself. In fact, he sometimes faces major consequences because of the same. Even so, Kyrgios never shy away from raising questions that pester him.

Speaking of which, currently, the Aussie is participating in grass-based tournaments in Germany. On Wednesday, after securing a position in the quarterfinals of the Halle Open, he had a few thoughts to share regarding how much non-European players have to travel in a year.

Nick Kyrgios about the distribution of tournaments

Kyrgios, while addressing to the press post his fourth round tussle with Stefanos Tsitsipas, spoke about how European players have it easier than others as they don’t have to travel around a lot.

He said, “European players can play clay court all year around and finish like 70 in the world. And they don’t even have to leave. Where an Australian player has to travel six months a year and not see his family, not see his friends. I have played five events this year and I am like 50 in the world and I have to travel.”

Further, Kyrgios defeated the current world No.6 in sets of 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 on 15th June to secure a match against former World No.10, Pablo Carreño Busta in the ATP 500 event. He will lock horns with the Spaniard on 17th June in Owl Arena.

The right-handed tennis ace, who is playing the ATP Halle Open, was pitted against Pablo Carreno Busta in the quarter-finals and defeated the Spaniard in straight sets. Looking at his record on grass, it seems likely that Kyrgios will make it big at the upcoming Wimbledon Championships.
