‘No, daddy! get back’ – Father of 4 Andy Murray opens up on an embarrassing moment with his daughter

Andy Murray is currently in the twilight of his tennis career. Despite having immense potential, Murray could not keep climbing the ladder of tennis greatness, as injuries played a huge role in his career. However, when it comes to being a family man, he has managed to grow further. Having four kids, Murray is a proud dad to his children. He recently shared a story about how he is the classic father, embarrassing his children and fulfilling his fatherly duties.

Adding fun to his daily routine, Murray has always found ways to strengthen his bond with his children. Recently, he pulled off a sweet prank with his daughter that really embarrassed her.

The former number 1 married his wife, Kim Sears, in April 2015. Since then, the two have had a strong relationship and had four children with each other. Their oldest, Sophia, along with her sister Edie, are the ones who got to experience Murray’s notorious side when he dropped them off at school. Recently, Murray appeared on the Great British Bake-Off, where he talked about how he embarrassed his daughter.

Maintaining his classic dad fashion, he asked them for a kiss and a hug when dropping them off at school. Murray said, “The 7-year-old is already a little bit embarrassed by me when I drop her at the school gate. I say, ‘Give me a hug to say goodbye and a little kiss’, and she’s like ‘No daddy! Get back in the car. It’s so embarrassing’.”

Murray knows how to embarrass his children easily and makes sure to do it as much as he can. However, his strategies don’t end with him making his daughters blush with cringe.

Murray shares a dad joke

Dad jokes are something most of us are familiar with. They start unsuspectingly, and the punchline always leaves one holding their head. Murray’s dad jokes are no different in this regard. As he talked about how he embarrassed his children, Murray also shared one dad joke he tells his daughters.

Creating a tennis wordplay, Murray brings a smile to his children’s faces. He said, “Yea she doesn’t really like the dad jokes. I’ve got an Andy Murray one, ‘What time does Andy Murray go to bed?”, the punchline, “Tennish.”

The host of the show barely smiled as Murray told the joke. But like most fathers around the world, he looked proud when he shared it. As his children grow older, we are bound to hear more dad jokes from the three-time grand slam champion.
