2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev becomes a father. Medvedev announced to his fans today that his wife Daria gave birth to a daughter on Friday. Former world number one Medvedev becomes the latest ATP Tour player to become a father, following Rafael Nadal and Gael Monfils.


Daniil Medvedev became the third ATP star to become a father last week. The 22-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal, along with his wife, recently welcomed their first baby boy. Medvedev married his wife Daria in 2018. The lovely couple remained silent about the arrival of the baby throughout their pregnancy.

Medvedev recently joined the baby boom show when he posted a picture of his growing family welcoming his first child with his wife Daria.

Medvedev met his childhood sweetheart when the Grand Slam winner was just 12 years old. Recently, Gael Monfils and tennis partner Elina Svitolina welcomed the birth of their baby girl.

Medvedev joins the likes of Rafael Nadal and Gael Monfils and their families who recently welcomed their children into the world. One fan quickly pointed out the unique coincidence.

Medvedev recently quit from a match citing injury

Fans were left in shock after the Russian left the stadium midway through the 2022 Astana Open semi-finals. While fighting for his place in the final, Medvedev won the first set spectacularly. However, his painful leg injury caused him to retire from the match. Medvedev believes his decision to step down is the best option to minimize injury time and will remain sidelined for around a month.
