World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas recently retired in the middle of his first-round match against Alexei Popyrin at the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. The Greek player was losing in the first set when he decided to walk off the court. The scoreline was 4-2 in Popyrin’s favor when the incident took place.

Stefanos Tsitsipas refuses to share details of his injury
In the post-match press conference, Tsitsipas refused to share any kind of details about his arm injury. He highlighted that he wants to keep the specifics to himself and doesn’t want to reveal which part of his arm is hurting.

In the same press conference, Tsitsipas emphasized that he wants to be fully fit for the ATP Finals 2021. He stated that even though he knows how to treat his injury, playing everyday doesn’t help. He also claimed that he is disappointed because he is not able to match his expectations because of the injury.
“I know how to treat it, but playing every day doesn’t make it better. It’s not easy just to stop, especially when you have big tournaments like this one where I want to do well. It hurts a lot not to be able to play at the level I’m expecting myself to play,” added the Greek player.
