“Pumped Up”: Uncle Toni Believes Rafael Nadal Will Have an Amazing Clay-Court Season

It is quite surprising news for fans as Toni Nadal is set to join the coaching team of Felix Auger-Aliassime. Toni has previously worked with Rafael Nadal and the pair had won 16 Grand Slam titles together. However, Rafa parted ways with his uncle in 2017, who will begin his coaching career now, in 2021 yet again.
In a recent interview, Uncle Toni talked extensively about Rafael Nadal. With the clay-court season coming up, he reflected that he saw the World No.3 player training hard in Mallorca before that. He also revealed that Rafa looks all pumped up and is playing pretty well at the moment.
“He is pumped up. I saw him training in Mallorca and I think he is playing pretty well,” said Toni Nadal in the interview.

Uncle Toni and Rafael Nadal were surely one of the best player-coach duo in the history of the sport. Even though they won almost every single Grand Slam, it was the clay surface that they dominated completely. Interestingly, Rafa won 10 French Open titles under Uncle Toni.

Toni Nadal believes that Nadal can have an amazing clay-court season yet again in 2021. He clearly feels that Rafa is still the ‘King of Clay’ and can manage to win yet another Roland Garros title.
