Rafael Nadal Receives Prestigious Award From Spain’s National Police For COVID-19 Efforts

COVID-19 wreaked havoc around the world, to say the least. The lockdowns and unfortunate medical expenses affected people from lower-income backgrounds much more than in affected the wealthy sections of the society. Fortunately, there is still good in the world, which was evident from how many celebrities around the world took it upon themselves to help their communities in these tough times. One such celebrity was tennis legend Rafael Nadal.
And his efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Recently, he received a Police Merit Medal from the National Police at the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels in La Misericordia located in Palma, Balearics. The Spaniard was honored with the medal for his collaboration with the community of Spain during difficult times brought on by the pandemic.

Rafael Nadal honored with Police Merit Medal
Apart from tennis, Rafael Nadal has always provided constant support to Spain and its community. Recently, the former World No.1 was honored with Police Merit Medal. The National Police honored Rafael Nadal on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels in Palma, Balearics.
Rafael Nadal has always stood up for Spain and its community. During the challenging times of Covid-19, Rafael Nadal and Pau Gasol started a campaign and raised money to fight against the pandemic. With solidarity and teamwork, the pair managed to raise more than €14m amount. Apart from Nadal and Gasol, many other athletes also got inspired and joined the campaign.

Rafael Nadal earned the medal for his contributions to the Spanish community as well as his commitment and never quest for excellence on the tennis court.
The Spaniard was among 46 persons recognized by the group, with the majority of them being police officers. The medals were presented to respected people in honor of the services provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
