“See It As a Fresh New Start”: Stefanos Tsitsipas Not Bothered with 5-1 H2H Against Alexander Zverev Ahead of Mexican Open 2021 Finals

World No.5 Stefanos Tsitsipas will be up against World No.7 Alexander Zverev in the final of the Mexican Open 2021 tomorrow. It’ll be a battle for the title and both the youngsters will try to get their hands on their first trophy of the season. Fans expect a nail-biting finale, especially after witnessing both of them in some good form lately.
In the build-up to the final, Stefanos Tsitsipas talked about his preparations and stuff. He mentioned that he would be playing some great tennis tomorrow in order to win the title. He also praised Alexander Zverev and claimed that he also has the same ‘ruth’ as himself.
“I’ll be playing good tennis. Feeling well on the court. He (Zverev) has the same ruth as me to get to where he is right now. So, I see it as a fresh new start,” said Tsitsipas in the interview.

The Greek player highlighted that it would be a different match tomorrow even though he maintains a 5-1 lead over Zverev in the head-to-head matches.
“Tomorrow is a different match. I don’t think we have faced each other in the finals before. It’s probably going to be the first time and I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking to bring some good tennis from my side,” added the 22-year-old.

The top-seeded player Tsitsipas has led a great campaign at the Mexican Open 2021 so far. He defeated John Isner, Felix-Auger Aliassime, and Lorenzo Musetti to book his place in the finale. Interestingly, the Greek player has lost just a single set in the tournament so far.
On the other hand, second-seeded Zverev too has shown some character in the Mexican Open so far. The German player hasn’t lost a single set so far and has crushed all his opponents. He defeated Dominik Koepfer in the semis to book his place in the championship match.
