“Switching Off TV”: Eugenie Bouchard Upset as Roger Federer Drops 2 Sets at Wimbledon Championships 2021 Quarter-Finals

Eight-time Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer, who reached his 18th quarter-finals at SW19, faced a tough opponent in the form of young Polish star Hubert Hurkacz.
Even though Federer had a winning record against Hurkacz, the Swiss Maestro struggled right from the start as he lost the first set to the Pole.

Hurkacz, on the other hand, was able to slide through the games with his accurate serving. Despite facing pressure from the Swiss star a couple of times in the first set, the Polish player managed to held his nerves to win the first set.
Roger Federer was dominated by Hubert Hurkacz in Wimbledon Quarter-Finals
Coming to the second set, the 20 time grand slam champion looked comfortable as he won the first two games. But, his lack of consistency proved to be a problem as he lost his serve and took the set to a deciding tie-breaker.
Even in the breaker, Federer wasn’t able to maintain high level as his form wavered. Hurkacz capitalized on the opportunity and hit perfect serves and won the tie-breaker, 7-6.

Considering the number of matches the Swiss star played this year, it looked highly unlikely that he can make a comeback from two sets to love down.
Federer, who enjoys immense following not only from his fans but also from fellow tennis players, was mentioned by the Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard as she tweeted about the match.
“Turning the TV off”, tweeted Bouchard after a disappointing performance by Federer.

Federer looked out of sorts at the moment on Center Court as he was broken to love by Hubert Hurkacz in the third set. The Polish player leads Federer by 3-0.
Hurkacz extended the lead in the third-set further and won the third set 6-0 against Federer and reached the semi-finals for the first time at Wimbledon Championships.
