Tennis fans are bracing themselves for a new version of the Laver Cup for the first time since its inception. The ATP’s future will be tested this year as most players are rising champions. When the tournament announced its players, fans were disappointed. There won’t be any sight of ‘The Big 3’ on the court who upheld the legacy of Team Europe. But this transition is inevitable as the childhood heroes cannot stick to the game forever. But their legacy will. In a turn of events, a Novak Djokovic fanboy is set to reclaim his spot in Team Europe.

This decision was announced hours ago as a Roger Federer fanboy pulled out of the tournament due to an injury. The pressure among present-generation champions has peaked as they signed up to uplift the standards set by tennis legends, especially after the major injury blow.

The blues that the Laver Cup brings with it still linger even after a year, as the tournament has become synonymous with Federer’s retirement. Since Team Europe suffered a huge loss last year, the Spaniard’s addition to the team comes with high pressure. Though he is ranked less than the previously selected Danish champion, captain Bjorn Borg went for it.

Djoker’s fan, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, is set to replace Holger Rune, King Roger’s fanboy. The official account of Laver Cup tweeted, ”Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will represent Team Europe in Vancouver for Laver Cup 2023. Captain Bjorn Borg has selected Davidovich Fokina to replace Holger Rune, who has withdrawn due to injury.”
