It has been a grueling season of tennis, hasn’t it? Over the past ten months, fans have witnessed intriguing tennis action from top stars across the globe. The action-packed season has also resulted in some unfortunate injuries for tennis players. Additionally, unideal conditions at the tournaments have made matters worse for them. Recently, the Swiss tennis star, Stan Wawrinka, opened up on a sad reality that players are facing currently.

Stan Wawrinka not happy with variations in balls

The 3-time Grand Slam champion has had the best season this year following his lengthy injury layoff. However, he has admitted to being exhausted due to his taxing schedule and playing conditions.

Wawrinka took to his official Twitter handle to highlight the issue of different types of balls used at different tournaments. It causes variation in playing speed as players have to adjust abruptly to the new conditions within no time. Sharing a snapshot of the tennis balls used at the Swiss Indoors, Wawrinka said, “Can’t believe in 2023 it’s still happening!” Additionally, he also tagged the official Twitter handle of the ATP Tour.

The 38-year-old has had a hectic season. Wawrinka has played in around 20 tournaments this year, in what has been a full-fledged comeback. As a result, he highlighted another glaring issue facing him.

Wawrinka admits to being out of shape

The Swiss tennis star has given his all on the tennis court this year. However, fatigue has gotten the better of him as he feels out of shape.

Admitting a harsh reality, Wawrinka said, “I feel that for the past few weeks, I have been very tired, broken even. After Astana, there were two or three times when I wanted to work but I couldn’t because I was too tired.”
